Vacation recovery

I spent most of last week in South Florida, visiting my parents and siblings and adorable niece. My one and a half year old niece does a great impersonation of The Fonz from Happy Days. She points her little fingers and says, “Aaaay!”

We got back Thursday night, but I just couldn’t shake myself out of the vacation mode to spend much time on the internet. So today it’s back to the regular routine. I always feel like I need another week of vacation just to recover from my vacation.

I’ll post a couple of pictures later, when I remember to get them off my camera. While I was in Florida, my mom and I went by GameStop and I picked up a used copy of Super Paper Mario for the Wii. I’m now addicted to it. I’ve gotten through the first four groups of chapters, so now I’ll be starting on 5-1 the next time I play. As I’ve mentioned before the original Super Mario Brothers is the only game I’ve ever managed to beat, so I really want to beat Paper Mario to make myself feel accomplished. Although I admit that I’ve had to check the walkthrough a couple of times when I’ve gotten stuck on a chapter and needed a hint about what to do next.

Also, I think my tae bo tape has had it. I bought it ten years ago when I saw it in the clearance bin and I’ve used it pretty often. I like it because it’s quick and I see results fast whenever I do it regularly. I wanted to use it again Saturday morning in addition to my regular treadmill routine, but when I put the tape in the DVD/VCR combo it would only play a couple of seconds–and it would play those couple of seconds really, REALLY slow–and then the tape would stop. I tried it a few times and it just wouldn’t work. So I guess I’ve killed it. I have a couple other workout DVDs that I can use instead, but that was my only tae bo workout video. Guess I’ll have to start checking around the clearance bins again to see if I can find another.

I LOVE Super Paper Mario! I know you can beat it!

Then you should check out the original Paper Mario if you have an N64 (if not, they are about $10). The second one wasn’t so great, but the first one rocked!
