Yesterday after I got back from the grocery store, it had been raining but had stopped by the time I got back home. I took my shoes off when I came in, then went back outside to get the rest of the groceries. Trying to get into the door and get around the dogs who always insist on getting in the way, I stepped on a bit of water that my shoes had tracked in during my first trip into the house and SMACK. Down I went. Right on the tile floor of my laundry room. I landed hard on my hip, so I’m surprised I don’t have a bruise since I bruise easily. At least there weren’t any glass bottles in the bags I was carrying right then so nothing broke.
But it wasn’t exactly my most graceful moment.
The Dish Network guys did show up on Saturday and got everything hooked up. Yay! But I discovered this weekend that even with 200 channels, there’s still nothing on.
Oh! And we bought my birthday present this weekend. My birthday is still a month away, but we got a head start because the store we decided to go to is going out of business right now and everything is marked down. So The Husband has to go pick it up on Wednesday and then we have a bit of work to do. But once it’s done I’ll show what it is. Something I really need and have been wanting for a while!
OUCH! I am glad nothing’s broken or bruised (other than, perhaps, your feelings).
That b’day present sure sounds intriguing… 🙂
Thanks. 🙂 I told The Husband about my fall and he said, “Aw, man, I’m sorry I missed it. I bet that was hilarious.” Sigh… 😉
hey, you are amulet right? at ALA you were signing at the same table as Abrams, and David Berona (author of Wordless Books) was signing there.
he is the director of the PSU library!!! i showed him your book and he recognized it! so awesome. you met justin’s boss!
Yep, I did meet him! We had dinner together with the Abrams/Amulet group at the hotel Saturday night while I was there, but we didn’t actually get to talk to each other because we were sitting on opposite ends of the table. But I do remember him and his book! Awesome! 🙂
Thanks

Re: Thanks
Holly,
Thank you for your comment!! I’m so glad you liked STBA! Keisha is a fun character and she always cracks me up with how she wants to kick people’s butts all the time. 🙂
I hope to one day write another book about Libby! Right now, there aren’t any plans for a sequel but maybe that will change! My next book comes out Fall 2009 and it’s about a girl named Cassie and all of her friends and the problems that start up between them when a new girl comes to Cassie’s school. I hope you’ll like it as much as Something to Blog About! 🙂
