Monday Five

1. Weird coincidences: Yesterday, I was working on a rough draft of the book I’ve been working on and one of the scenes I wrote involved the characters watching The Breakfast Club. Then this morning, I look through my friends list on Livejournal and see two different people mention The Breakfast Club in their entries.

2. I think I dreamed in Spanish Saturday night. I’ve been relearning Spanish this year with the podcast Coffee Break Spanish and I’m almost caught up to the lessons (only a couple more to go before I’m up to date with them, having made my way through all of their old episodes) and I’ve learned A LOT more than I ever did during my three years of high school Spanish. Anyway, I don’t recall what the dream was about except that I seem to remember people speaking Spanish to me and me replying back, also in Spanish.

3. I knew, of course, that getting satellite TV meant that I would happily watch Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, and What Not to Wear whenever they came on, but I’ve now become addicted to something else I didn’t expect: Ashley Paige: Bikini or Bust. I can’t explain it, but if I see this show is on, I will watch it. I’m not sure if it’s actually entertaining or if I’m just drawn into the trainwreck aspect.

4. I think I’ve gotten to the point that I actually REALLY like exercise. I started walking on my treadmill at the beginning of October 2007 and I try to walk at least four days of the week on it. Then on weekends, I do some strength training and yoga. I notice that I feel so much better on the days that I get myself up early enough to work out. Sometimes I’m lazy and can’t drag myself out of bed, so then I spend the rest of the day feeling tired and mushy brained. Saturday morning, for some reason I woke up feeling really stiff all over and my first thought was, “I need to do some yoga and stretch myself all out again.” I actually want to exercise? Crazy!

5. In a couple of weeks, it’ll be our birthday-week-and-a-half! The Husband’s and my birthdays are nine days apart, so it always kind of feels like the birthday celebration stretches on throughout the whole timespan. Right now, I’m trying to decide what kind of cake I want. Cheesecake or a regular yellow cake? Or maybe an ice cream cake? Oh, strawberry cake! Hmm…tough decision…

    Shana–

Just wanted to let you know that I *FINALLY* got my copy of STBA! It’s coming up next in my “to be read” pile. 🙂

I can’t wait to read it!

Enjoying your book so far 🙂

i’m reading ‘Something To Blog About’ right now, it’s very interesting. I feel as if I am Libby. So far i’m hating on Angel (she’s no angel at all). This is one of the first books I’m reading written by you…hope to read more in the future.

Dreaming in Spanish? That’s cool – I guess that means you know it! I had my first dream in French a few weeks ago… and I’ve been taking it for 10 years or so.
