Holiday Hop! Win prizes!

I told you there would be giveaways coming soon and here it is, just in time for Christmas!

I’m excited to be a part of the Holiday Hop, comprised of indie authors who are giving away lots of good stuff for you!

How does it work? Start here at the Holiday Hop official page any time from December 15 through 25th. Go down the list, visiting the sites of each of the authors listed. You’ll find information on how to enter the Holiday Hop on each of the sites along with what prizes each of the authors will be giving away. The best part? You can enter ALL of the contests each of the authors is hosting! That means lots and lots of chances for you to win!

Even better? Entering the contests in the Holiday Hop also gets you a chance to win the GRAND PRIZE, which is…

A Kindle Fire!

So since you’re still here, I’m guessing you want a chance to enter a contest, right? As part of the Holiday Hop, I’ll be giving away FIVE copies of Surfacing in ebook format (mobi, epub, or PDF).

Sixteen-year-old Mara Westray has just lost her mother, and now, being shipped off to live with the father she doesn’t know is not how she imagined grieving. She’s already counting down the days until she turns eighteen and can leave the tiny island of Swans Landing.

But from the moment she steps off the ferry, nothing is as ordinary as it looks. Whispers of a haunting song on the wind make her see impossible things, and she isn’t sure she can trust her judgment about what is real and what isn’t anymore. Maybe she can’t even trust her judgment about quiet Josh Canavan, whose way of speaking in riddles and half-truths only confuses her more, luring her deeper into the secrets hidden beneath the ocean’s surface.

As she tries to unravel the events that led to her mom fleeing the island sixteen years ago, Mara finds that the biggest secret of all is only the beginning.

In addition to that, all entries on my contest here will be entered for my mini-grand prize: a $25 gift certificate to your choice of either Amazon.com or BarnesandNoble.com. You have the chance to win an ebook as well as the gift certificate.

How do you enter? All you have to do is leave a comment on this blog post telling me your favorite holiday! Be sure to leave a valid email address so I can contact you if you’re the winner. Your email will be kept private and will not be sold or distributed to anyone else. I will only contact you if you’re one of the five winners. You can enter once per day by commenting below, but you can also win an extra entry by Tweeting this line:

Enter to win Surfacing by @shananorris and $25 gift card! http://bit.ly/vXRhYg #holidayhop

The whole line above must be posted to Twitter in order for me to count your entry, and be sure to come back here and leave another comment letting me know you tweeted it. The Twitter entry is entirely optional, not required in order to enter the contest. The only requirement is a comment here about your favorite holiday. Mine is Thanksgiving because I love all the good food without the stress of finding perfect gifts for everyone. 😉 What’s yours? Be sure to leave your name and your email address so I can contact you!

Five winners plus one mini-grand prize winner will be drawn on December 26th from all of the valid entries.

You must be over the age of 13 to enter because I can’t take personal information from anyone under 13 (but your parents can enter the contest for you).

Okay, I killed two birds with one stone. My favorite holiday is Christmas because for me it is a time to celebrate with my family and friends the love and respect we have for one another. It is also a time of reflection and can be looked upon as a religious holiday but more than that, it is the perfect week all year as seven days later, a new year starts without fail.

It’s a toss up between Christmas and Halloween. My mom’s birthday is October 29th so we always have her birthday on Halloween which of course means a costume party and all kinds of fun. Christmas just seems to bring my family closer together which is pretty close since we’re a tight knit group anyway.

My favorite holiday is the New Year actually – love the fireworks display (starting with Sydney) throughout the day as different time zones meet the new year!

This is a no brainner. Thanksgiving is the best holiday of them all. It is like taking all the other holidays and putting them into one container, a container that starts and ends in love and being thankful for that love. Being thankful to the God, spouce, parents, children, neighbors, community, nation, and lets not forget the solidrs, men and women, that lay down or are willing to lay down their lives for us to have the freedom to give thanks for the peace/misery that we are experienceing at the time. Every holiday should begin and end in love and thanksgiving. Without Thanksgiving, we would forget to be thankful because I see too many forgetting to be thankful and we highly celebrate Thanksgiving day in this nation. No matter what holiday you enjoy most, I hope that you start it with love and thanksgiving and end it with love and thanksgiving.

My favorite holiday is Christmas. The whole season makes me smile and everyone really chips in to the community to show their thanks. Plus I love how decked out the city gets.

Hmmm, favorite holiday. It’s a toss-up between Halloween and Christmas. I love everything about both! (especially the chocolate) But if I had to choose Christmas might have the very slight edge becasuse the Christmas season lasts longer than the one day.

    Thanks!
