It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a meme hosted by One Person’s Journey Through a World of Books.

What I read:

Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
Finally finished the audiobook of this one! I love this series and can’t wait for the next book. I told The Husband a few weeks ago that often I’m able to predict the ending or the twists in books by the halfway point, but Beautiful Darkness kept me guessing. There was one twist that I did predict at the beginning of the book, but I didn’t know exactly how it would come about so I was still surprised when I got to that point.

Don’t Die, Dragonfly by Linda Joy Singleton
This is the first of Linda’s books that I’ve read. It was offered for free for the Kindle, so I downloaded it and really enjoyed it. I’m going to check out the rest of the series too!

Something Like Fate by Susane Colasanti
I had read Elizabeth Scott’s The Unwritten Rule a few weeks ago, so this reminded me a lot of that. But it was a fun, quick read and Lani had a fun voice.

The Iron King by Julie Kagawa
I love faeries, so I picked this up at the bookstore a couple weeks ago. Now I wish I had gotten The Iron Daughter too so I could go ahead and start on it soon! I really liked the concept of the Iron Fey. And Ash…Well, I totally kept imagining Ben Barnes (from Prince Caspian) as Ash.

Seriously, would you be able to resist the broody Winter Prince?

What I’m reading:

On the Kindle, I’m reading Starlighter by Bryan Davis. I’m also reading the print edition of Nightshade by Andrea Cremer. And my current audiobook is Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr. I am so behind on Melissa’s books! I read Wicked Lovely back when it was first released and am just now getting to the second book.

What I bought:

A few more books in the Chronicles of Narnia series arrived last week: The Magician’s Nephew, The Horse and His Boy, and Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I also bought a print copy of Beautiful Darkness, along with The Kite Runner, The Memory Keeper’s Daughter, Across the Universe, and Unearthly.

Additional note:

On the subject of my last post, I mentioned that there are ways to get free books other than by stealing them. One way is entering contests. Author L.K. Madigan recently posted sad news on her blog. In support of her, the 2009 Debutantes are giving away 40 sets of her two books! All you have to do to enter is spread the love. Head over here to find out more details and enter the giveaway!
