- Hello, spring weather, I’m so glad you’re here! You must have read my whining in my last post and came to the rescue. It’s been so warm and nice this week! Well, except for the rain. But as long as it’s not COLD rain, I can deal with it.
- This past week I started getting up at 5:00am to write. I am not a morning person. AT. ALL. I usually would write at nights and weekends, but that hasn’t been working out lately with The Husband’s schedule change. So I thought, “Hmm…maybe I should try getting up early to write?” Which, clearly, is a sign that I’m going crazy. But you know what? It’s working out and although I’ve been tired and am in bed earlier than usual because of it, I’ve made good progress and it hasn’t been as hard as I thought it would be to get up. But come back and ask me again in a couple weeks if I’m still getting up so easily, once the newness wears off. But my friend Laura is doing it along with me so she can hold me accountable if I decide to ignore the alarm clock and sleep in. 😉 Although we’re not total gluttons for punishment–we do give ourselves the weekends to catch up on blissful sleep.
- Speaking of getting up early, when I do I’ve been waiting to eat my breakfast after my workout. My schedule is: 5am-6am writing, 6-6:30 exercise, 6:30-7 shower & get ready for work, 7 finally breakfast. But this morning I was pretty hungry when I woke up, so I ate my cereal while I wrote. But by 7:30 when I was getting ready to leave my stomach started growling again, so I decided while I was straightening my hair that I would get a Pop-Tart before I headed out the door. Only I just now realized I forgot to get the Pop-Tart. So now I’m eating Wheat Thins. Which are good, but, um, I think I would have enjoyed the strawberry frosted Pop-Tart way more.
- I’ve been posting a bit more on Twitter lately and it hit me this morning that Twitter is a good exercise in editing. I have to get a bit creative sometimes in fitting my thought into just 140 characters and learn how to cut out words while still getting my point and intended tone across.
- Man, that strawberry frosted Pop-Tart would have been really good right now.
Twitter reminds me of writing poetry, you have to make every word (or even character) count… I was never very good at poetry, lol! Need more room!
See you Monday morning, bright and early! 🙂
-Laura
