I’ll also be appearing at CheeReaders Summer Camp on Saturday in Winston-Salem. It’s only open to the kids that are attending and the cheerleaders working that day as counselors, but I wanted to mention it because CheeReader is this awesome organization created by high school cheerleader Hannah Young to promote reading. I had the pleasure of speaking with Hannah’s mom about how CheeReader started and what has happened to it and I am in awe of what Hannah has accomplished so far with this program! If you’re a teacher or librarian, take a look at CheeReader’s website and see if you might want to contact Hannah about starting a branch in your area.
Finally, if you’re in eastern North Carolina and can get 107.1 The Talk Station on your radio, I’ll be doing a live radio interview on Wednesday, August 19 at 7:15am. I know, it’s early, but you can listen on your way to work. 😉 (That day also happens to be my birthday…Just FYI!) Hopefully I won’t stutter too much or forget what I’m talking about!
