Mmm, powdered ketchup

I saw something in the snack machine at work that made me do a double take.

ketchupchips

Ketchup flavored chips.

Hmmm…

I mean, I know fries and potato chips are made from the same thing, but still, ketchup chips strikes me as not too appetizing. But then, I’m not real huge fan of ketchup. Now mustard is another story–I might seriously consider eating mustard chips.

Also, it doesn’t seem like a good sign when the other chips in the machine are 75 cents but the ketchup chips are only 50 cents. Like they had to lower the price just to get people to eat them.

A couple years ago when these first came out a friend of mine saw me at the store and ran, cart barreling at high speed in front of her, to me. “Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh,” she said. “Look!”

In her hands was a bag of these chips. She was so excited. I nodded accordingly and tried not to gag. lol

These have been in Canada since I was a kid. And that was um….a few years ago. Personally I think they’re disgusting, but lots of people love them.

I didn’t know that the US didn’t have Ketchup flavoured chips. 🙂 Usually when there’s a party you can bet that the three top chips there are 1) Ketchup, 2) Salt and Vinegar, and 3) Plain chips.

Also, 50-75 cents for vending machine items? I knew I was being ripped off paying $1.25 – $1.50. 🙁

I’ve never heard of that brand of chips, but I still say give ketchup a try. 🙂

    andy capp’s ketchup chips

I used to look forward every day to my vending machine bag of Andy Capp’s chips. I’ve tried several brands since AC went out. Does anyone know how to get the Andy Capp or those made in Canada?
