Good Morning Kinston

My hometown was featured on Good Morning America this weekend. They came to town a few weeks ago to do a story on our minor league baseball team because we’re one of the smallest, if not the smallest, town in the US with a minor league team. We’re the minor league affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, named, appropriately enough, the Kinston Indians.

You can see the story here. Not all of the town looks that run down. They only showed the empty buildings on the main street, not the ones that actually still have businesses in them. And if they had shown the area out by Wal-Mart, which is where all of the new businesses are moving to, the town wouldn’t have looked quite so dilapidated. But that wouldn’t have made dramatic TV!

No, I don’t know why we have a dog mascot. I guess he was cuter than the Indian mascot we used to have?

    No place like home!

I said 3 times and I still here in Florida. LOL. I like it and it shows how nice the people back home are.

    Ahhh, Kinston.

I used to cut through on Fridays and Sundays to get to and from college. 🙂

I really like the downtown area . . . I hope they continue to revitalize. There’s a lot of potential there . . . especially with all of the global transpark stuff.
