90210

I’m a bit behind, but I’ve finally gotten a chance to watch the episodes so far of the new 90210. The only thing I really have to say is: The new kids are fitting into a new environment WAY too easily.

I moved from a small eastern North Carolina town to overpopulated Palm Beach County, Florida, the summer before my junior year of high school. I can tell you that I did not have the most popular girl in school inviting me to her birthday party my first day there. It’s like Annie and Dixon are having no struggle at all with a new school and new people and what is most likely a totally new environment, going from Kansas to southern California. Oh, sure, they mentioned being worried before they started school, but right away they made friends and got mixed in with the popular crowd.

Real life is so not like TV shows want you to believe.

Otherwise, I’m just eh about the show in general. Not something that I’m going to be desperate to watch each week, although I probably will watch it online when I get a chance. Love Gossip Girl though!

That’s exactly what I said on Jennifer Lynn Barne’s LJ. It was something like, “I love fish out of water stories. But this is not that, its “here fish, have a bigger pond, where you will thrive and love it, yay”!

The first episode, i was waiting for the popular girl (who looks 25 years old, IMO) to show her other side– to turn out she was setting up the new girl for some uber embarassment…i waited, and waited, and…. wtf is this? She’s geniune?

    Its not working.

Exactly! While I was watching the third episode I kept thinking how it seems like the Kansas family has really been living in California all their lives and the fact that they’re new in town just doesn’t exist at all.

(I agree that the popular girl looks too old for high school!)
