Turkey update and playlists

Apparently, that turkey is my neighbors’ pet. They now have it in a pen in their backyard, along with a couple of chickens. And it’s after Christmas and the turkey is still there, so I’m assuming it’s not their dinner. Not so far, anyway.

elmarshall mentioned in her blog that she got an iPod for Christmas and is now procrastinating on her writing by creating playlists for her stories. I got an iPod for Christmas too (and of course, I had to get a pink case for it!) so I know EXACTLY what she means. I spent the other night working on a playlist for one of my books, trying to figure out all the right songs. I finally came up with:

Acoustic #3 – Goo Goo Dolls
Ain’t Comin Home – Silvertide
Bad Reputation – Joan Jett & The Blackhearts
Bittersweet – Fuel
Falls on Me – Fuel
Follow You Down – Gin Blossoms
Girl Next Door – Saving Jane
Good Times Bad Times – Led Zeppelin
I Think I’m Paranoid – Garbage
Let Go – 12 Stones
Life is Short – Butterfly Boucher
Local God – Everclear
Move Along – All American Rejects
No Sleep Tonight – The Faders
Smells Like Teen Spirit – Nirvana
Song for the Dumped – Ben Folds Five
Stupid Girl – Garbage
Sugar, We’re Going Down – Fall Out Boy
Vindicated – Dashboard Confessional

This book’s theme uses a lot of songs that make me want to dance. There are some softer moments, but the “get up and move” is pretty much how I want this book to feel. If I can remember all the songs I listened to while working on Something to Blog About, I’ll post that playlist in another update.

Also, I found a nice review of STBA and I have to say that I’m very honored and giddy to have my name mentioned in the same paragraph with Meg Cabot and Lauren Myracle!

First, I love the review. HOW EXCITING.

And I love the playlist. Thanks for posting. Now, I have to go check out all your songs. Because I love to dance. I know alot of them, but some of them I can’t remember. That’s the problem with people like Fall Out Boy that have titles that have nothing to do with the song itself. It’s so confusing for the non-musically inclined, like me.

    Happy Writing.

AND that review is amazing (commented so fast on the playlist that I hadn’t read the review yet). =] I’m sosososo excited about it. I, of course, plan to buy myself a copy of STBA and one for my classroom.

Cool, I also got an iPod. I know what you mean I was staying up so late to make a playlist. I like your playlist. =)
