Disconnect

Okay, people have got to stop building and remodeling things around my house. Because when they do they cut me off from the rest of the world. First it was the left side neighbor that cut my phone line. Now, it’s my new right side neighbor that’s cut the replacement line the phone company put down because of the first incident! Well, okay, I shouldn’t say it was the neighbors themselves. They haven’t moved into their house yet. No, it was actually the electric company that came out to run the power lines to the new neighbor’s house (we didn’t have a neighbor on our right side before now). We have underground power lines to the houses, so they cut my phone line while digging around next to my driveway.

Now, I could survive without a phone. I still have my cell phone and besides, I don’t like talking on the phone much anyway. But the problem is that I have DSL, so when my phone line gets cut my internet connection gets severed too.

I swear I was going through internet withdrawal last night. Shaking, nausea, sweating, hallucinations.

It’s funny that when I have access to the internet, I’m perfectly fine with not getting on it for a day or two. But when I know I can’t access it, I have a hard time surviving even a couple hours. I had several other things I could occupy my time with last night, but the only thing I really wanted to do was check my email ten thousand times just because I couldn’t.

Anyway, moving on to more exciting things, check out Amulet Books’ website! That’s my book in the promo spot, with Lauren Myracle’s sweet blurb about it (I’m still SO thrilled that Lauren Myracle has read my book!), and a link back to my website. Awesome!

I totally know what you mean about how you don’t realize how much you need Internet, until you are without it for a few days or even hours.

Loved the promo on the Website. That’s wonderful!
