Even writers get excited about meeting other writers. So when I saw a notice in my local paper a couple weeks ago that New York Times bestselling author Carrie Ryan was coming to speak at the library in my hometown, I HAD to be there. I had just listened to the audiobook of The Forest of Hands and Teeth a couple months ago and loved it.
So I met Leigh Brescia (author of One Wish) and her brother at the library on Thursday afternoon to stalk support Carrie.
(Ignore my shiny face and goofy grin. I was excited about meeting Carrie!)
If you ever get the chance to listen to Carrie Ryan speak, I encourage you to go! She did a great job talking about how she came up with the idea for The Forest of Hands and Teeth and what led her to become a writer. I LOVE listening to writers talk about their process and their journey to publishing.
And I’m still just really excited that Carrie came to our area. We never get anyone visiting eastern North Carolina, except Nicholas Sparks, but that’s because he lives in this area.
