Professional bridesmaid

I forgot how exhausting planning a wedding is. And it’s not even my wedding, so I’m not doing all the planning. I’m just a bridesmaid, so my duty is really tagging along for dress shopping. Which is exhausting. Saturday after we got back I fell asleep on my couch. On Sunday, after we went out to a different store, I couldn’t do much other than lay on the couch and watch TV. I went to bed early last night.

I should know how exhausting a wedding is–I’ve been in seven of them, not counting my own!

But at least we finally got the dresses. They look like this, in black and will have a red ribbon around the waist. It’s an evening Marine Corps wedding, so we’re matching the uniforms. It’s a really beautiful dress and I got to be the model for the dress shopping and try this on in the store. The only thing is, I’m short. So I’m going to need some high heels and probably will still need some hemming. The salesgirl suggested five inch heels. I said, “Um, I don’t think I can walk in five inch heels! The highest I can do is four, and that’s only with a bit of a platform under my toes.” Five inch heels? Is she trying to break my neck?
