Monday Things

1. The news has been popping up in a few places already, so I just wanted to mention that my agent, Stephen Barbara, is now with Foundry Literary + Media as of today. And I’ve moved along with him. This doesn’t mean anything for those of you who are readers and it has no effect on Something to Blog About or on the upcoming Troy High, but for those of you who are writers and interested in querying him I’m updating my website to include his current contact info.

2. I could NOT fall asleep last night. My Restless Leg Syndrome was acting up and my legs ached really bad. A lot of times I can move to the couch and manage to fall asleep there, but last night even the couch didn’t help. So I got five hours of not very restful sleep because even after I did manage to pass out I still woke up every time my legs needed to move.

3. I finally saw The Dark Knight yesterday. So good! Although so long. I get a bit antsy from sitting for a really long time watching movies. At one point I checked to see how much time was left because I really wanted to get up and move around, saw that I had only half an hour left and decided to try to stick through for the last bit. It was hard. As much as I love the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings movies, I have to watch each one in two parts because I just can’t sit through the whole thing all at once. That’s why I kind of like commercial breaks on TV. I can get up and go do something else for a few minutes.

4. I really love McDonald’s parfaits. I had one last night and today for lunch. So good. I was so disappointed on my way back from NCTE when I tried to order a parfait from the McDonald’s in the San Antonio airport and they were out! NOOOO!!! So they gave me this fruit and yogurt salad thing which just wasn’t quite the same. Even though both involve yogurt and fruit. But the parfait is still better. Yum.

With you on THE DARK NIGHT.

Whenver we rent dvd’s and it gives me the “directors cut’ or regular one, i go regular. I figure the one in theatres will be the one that is shorter. DARK KNIGHT should have *SPOILER ALERT* just left it with the joker and hinted that two-face was coming in the next movie…not continued on and on!

I completely agree! **SPOILER ALERT** I had started to expect that Two-Face would be the main villain for a third movie and that The Dark Knight was just showing how he became that way to introduce him to us. I kind of felt that the ending with Two-Face detracted from the whole Joker plotline.

I found restless leg syndrome is caused by two different things. I used to suffer from it, but I don’t anymore. The first is dehydration. Dehydration also causes those annoying arch-of-the-foot cramps. So drink lots of water!

The second is a lack of iron. If you don’t take a multi-vitamin already, this might be enough to prevent it. Or there are over the counter iron supplements, but I would talk to your doctor first before taking them.

Thanks for the tips! I’ve had RLS since I was a kid and most of the time it’s fine, it’s just every couple months or so I’ll have problems for a few nights. 🙁
