1. I’ve been trying to decide whether I want to try to write anything for NaNoWriMo this year. I love NaNoWriMo and have been doing it since 2001, every year except 2005. I have a few ideas I could do, but I’m questioning whether I’d have time to get it done. I’ll be at NCTE for several days, so that and Thanksgiving cuts out five (maybe six, depending on how tired I am after flying back home) days of maniac writing time. Maybe I’ll attempt it and see how much I get done!
2. My second book, which comes out Fall 2009, was a NaNoWriMo book! I wrote it for NaNoWriMo 2006. But A LOT has changed from that very first NaNo draft.
3. Back on the subject of events where I’ll be speaking, if you’re in eastern North Carolina, come celebrate Teen Reads Week with me at the Pender County Public Library. I’m giving a presentation on blogging and my book Something to Blog About on October 16th. I’ll be at the Hampstead branch at 3:30pm and at the Burgaw branch at 6:30pm. And you may even get a glimpse of the elusive Husband who says I can’t post anything about him on my blog.
4. Everyone keeps asking me if I’m growing my hair back out. I’m not, I’m just really, really lazy about going to get haircuts. I put it off as long as possible, until I absolutely can’t stand it anymore. I guess everyone’s questions are signs that it’s time to stop putting it off and get it done.
5. Um…I got nothing. Here, watch the ninja cat instead:

FREAKING AWESOME VIDEO~!
its like red light- green light!
super awesome
You should do NaNoWriMo. Even if you don’t finish, you’ll have something, right?
NaNo
I’m debating about the whole NaNo thing, too. I *want* to, but I’m *so* over-extended at the moment . . . including revisions on last year’s NaNo which agent wants to start shopping around. 🙂 I’m also trying to finish a new YA, and I’m juggling five online English classes . . . I think if I try, I’ll have a nervous breakdown.
On the other hand . . . I was planning a sequel to last year’s NaNo, so November would be the *perfect* time to do it.
Erg. I still have a few weeks to decide. I’m going to see how productive I am the first few weeks of October. 🙂
