Freak out

So thanks to a certain member of my family, I have a little bit of inherited hypochondria. I mentioned here already that I got really sick about a week ago. I had felt fine since then until my neck started feeling stiff a couple of days this past week. Then on Saturday, I got a little bit of a fever and body aches again.

This of course led my head to screaming “MENINGITIS!!” at me. The only thing was that my neck didn’t hurt to bend my head down toward my chest, it only hurt if I turned my head from side to side. Still, I started searching to see if maybe I had a rash anywhere, which is one of the other symptoms of meningitis according to WebMD.

But I don’t. And the fever and body aches didn’t last long. And then I realized that the neck stiffness only happened at certain times…after I’d been knitting, which I had just started to do again this past week after several months of not doing it. On the days I don’t knit, my neck isn’t stiff. When I do, it is. Oh. Well, that’s a lot better than meningitis. I just have to remember to take breaks often and stretch my neck to keep from getting so stiff.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I am officially fighting with my Wii Fit. After I got sick a week ago, it told me I was making great progress on my goal because I had lost almost 4 pounds in two days. Then after I was able to eat again, I gained back 1 pound in two days. So it made me select a choice as to why I had gained a pound. I told The Husband that I was mad there wasn’t an option that says, “I got really sick and lost almost 4 pounds in two days, so don’t yell at me for gaining back 1 pound in two days now that I’m able to eat again.” I choose the “I don’t know” option and it asked me, “Are you SURE you don’t know why you gained weight?” The Husband thought I was going crazy for getting an attitude with my Wii.

Ha! I almost expected the Wii Fit to say, “Don’t lie to me! I saw that key lime cheesecake you were eating the other day!”

My husband is trying to master the Wii bowling. But we found out that unfortunately being good at Wii bowling doesn’t translate to being good at real life bowling for some odd and totally unfair reason…

Can’t wait to meet you this weekend!! 😀

Yeah, there are some things that Nintendo really needs to fix with the Wii Fit. I had wondered about women who get pregnant while using the Wii Fit and then have to put up with it getting an attitude with them for gaining weight over those nine months.

      Re: knitting!

Yep! I’ve been knitting for about five years or so. I don’t know anyone else outside of the internet that knits though, so I’ve never been to a Stitch and Bitch circle or anything. 🙁
