Top 5 shows I miss

I’ve had just about all I can handle of gray days. We haven’t seen the sun around here in several days because gray clouds just keep hanging over us. They’re supposed to start clearing out later today, thankfully.

One night last week, The Husband and I were talking about something, I don’t even remember what, but somehow the subject of the TV show Blossom came up. I said, “I really miss Blossom. I used to love that show!”

Which got me thinking about other TV shows I miss. So I bring you, My List of Top 5 TV Shows I’d Love to Watch Over and Over Again:

Blossom – I’ll admit that I used to try to dress up like Blossom, but I was never brave enough to leave the house dressed like that. I did have one of those floppy hats with a flower on the front like she wore. I wore it to school once and a boy on my bus laughed at me. Oh, and I had a huge crush on Joey Lawrence back then, like every other girl my age. I even had his CD.

Perfect Strangers – I will always and forever love Balki Bartokomous. We do the Dance of Joy!

My So-Called Life – I think this is a given, as I’ve mentioned my love of this show before. And how Jordan Catalano made me fall for the mysterious, loner guys who are never good for you.

Kids Incorporated – When I was eleven, I used to write scripts for Kids Incorporated and then make my brothers and sister and the girl next door act them out with me. I even included songs just like the show. Most often the songs were from my collection of 80s Madonna and Bon Jovi cassettes. “Papa Don’t Preach” and “Livin’ on a Prayer” especially. I know the show is really cheesy and the acting is bad, but I still have a soft spot for it.

Hey Dude – I always wanted to run off to the Bar None Dude Ranch and live with the group there. Nevermind the fact that I don’t know how to ride a horse. Maybe I could just sweep the floors or something.

    I had a shirt from the Blossom collection and I LOVED that shirt. It was a white shirt, but no standard white shirt…a crazy 90s hippie type affair with draping sleeves, gold buttons, and those little ties at the bottom that were so big back then. I later used the sleeves for my Princess Leia costume.

      That shirt sounds really cool! I’ve always loved sleeves like that, but could never find any shirts in the stores around here like that. 🙁

    Okay, now, I’m not sure these five would be on my top 5 shows of all time I miss, but I loved all five! I was a total Blossum-addict when I was younger, and Hey Dude was the greatest/cheesiest show ever!

    My brother and I still do the dance of joy! It was one of our favorite things. < ^^>

    When my husband and I got married here in Tucson, we held the reception at the Tanque Verde Ranch, and, in doing so, we got to spend one night there. At breakfast the next morning, our placemats showed a little map of the ranch, and something was included in this map that wasn’t in the map we’d initially seen of the place. It turns out that Hey Dude was actually filmed there.

    We walked to the old set and checked it out. Most of the buildings are still there, even if they are skeletons of quick construction. I think you can actually stay overnight in the one of the ranch houses, though, on which they continue upkeep for the purpose. Pretty neat stuff. I kept pointing things out to my husband, and he could only roll his eyes. < ^^>;

    I have to admit to owning an “I (heart) Jordan Catalano” t-shirt. I also have the entire my so-called life DVD box set.

    I’d forgotten about “Hey Dude”! I used to love that show! Christine Taylor was on that show, wasn’t she? The one who’s married to Ben Stiller now?

      I want to get the MSCL DVD set. I keep putting it on my birthday and Christmas lists, but no one has gotten the hint yet. 😉 I guess I’ll just have to buy it for myself!

      Yep, Christine Taylor was on Hey Dude! Every time I see her in other shows and movies, I still think of her as Melody from Hey Dude. 🙂
