Trying to catch up!

I feel like I’m constantly behind these days. Argh!

I’m even behind on posting about my booksigning that happened three days ago. It went great, the Book Depot in Kinston is awesome and the staff are so nice and supportive of me and my book. A few people who stopped to buy a book or two didn’t know me, but said they had seen the article in the local paper and wanted to come by and say congratulations on getting published. One person told me that it was really cool that someone from our little town got published. A few people I hadn’t seen in a while came by and got a book and it was nice to get a chance to chat with them a little.

A group of cheerleaders who decided to suddenly burst into cheers just a few feet away nearly gave me and The Husband and the people who were getting their books signed a heart attack. I still have no idea why they were there. There were no signs up saying there was a cheerleading demonstration that day and I don’t think the cheerleaders were even from our county. Their uniforms said Trojans and the only school nearby with the Trojan mascot that I know of is one of the neighboring counties. Maybe they just go to area malls and randomly decide to cheer?

I would post pictures–if I had remembered to take my camera. But we walked right out without it. I also walked out without my pens, so we had to stop and buy some new ones so I could actually sign the books. A friend of The Husband’s is a photographer though and he did come by and take some pictures, so maybe we’ll be able to get some from him.

So things went great, but apparently my subconscious is still a little worried. I dreamed last night that I had gotten a call from someone who said I signed their kid’s book with the wrong name. It was a boy and apparently I signed his name as “Art” when his name was actually something like “Buhaniacihuenah.” First of all, I think my subconscious made up that name. Second, how could I ever mix up “Art” and “Buhaniacihuenah”?

LOL 🙂 When the cheerleaders started their routine, someone did say to me, “Look, they came out to cheer for your booksigning!”
