Unplugged

I came into work this morning and my monitor had DIED. Completely dead, flat-lined, no chance of resuscitation.

So I was waiting for tech services to come and give me a new monitor. Do you know how addicted to technology I am? I’d sit there for a few minutes staring at the wall and then think, “Well, while I’m waiting I could check my email…Oh, right. I CAN’T!”

I’m really bad about doing that whenever the power is out at home. I’ll read for a while, then want to take a break and try to check my email before remembering that my desktop and modem don’t work without electrickery.

Oh, yeah, I know what you mean.

A couple of nights ago, we were watching a silent movie on the late show, and my husband kept wondering why incrasing the volume wouldn’t make the sound any louder. 🙂

That stinks. I hate when my computer is down because of the power or other reasons. Or even when I’m someplace I can’t check email. I feel so lost.

It’s so weird that I didn’t even have email till college. That feels like a lifetime ago.

I know the feeling! Our power back home goes out during every storm, and everytime, I do the same thing.

“Oh well, I’ll just watch TV..wait…”
    “Well, I’ll just put in a DVD..oops..”
“It’s dark, can we turn on the light..dang!”

Heh. I just can’t seem to grasp it. And it always happens at night, so I can’t even do the “well, I can read” thing.
