We had bad storms go through the area all through the night. It woke me up at 4:00am and I could see just continuous lightning flashes through the windows. They were giving out tornado warnings before we went to bed last night.
The Husband managed to get a fish hook all the way through his hand yesterday while fishing with a friend (before the storms started). Then he just took the hook out and kept fishing. He made his friend come into the house when they got back and tell me all about it. His friend was freaking out, starting to throw everything back into the truck so they could go to the hospital, but The Husband said, “If I get this hook out of my hand, we’re going to keep fishing!”
My agent emailed me yesterday to let me know that I have a mention in this week’s Publishers Weekly. In the Spring 2008 Sneak Previews article, my book is listed under Abrams/Amulet. It lists the old title, but that’s okay! Early buzz is always good! The article is also on their website and reading through it, I’ve already added some more books to my ever-growing to read list. Not enough time in the day to read all the books that catch my eye!
It rains here every day. Florida has the daily showers, and they’re hard, not light showers. I’m glad that tornadoes didn’t hit you.
I’m terrified of fishing because I’m so scared somebody will cast the line back and hook me.
That’s a cool article! I want to read What to Do About Alice?.
Do you have any ARCs yet?
I lived in south Florida for a year and a half during high school and my family still lives there, so I know exactly what you mean about the rain every day! Although last year when we went to visit, at the end of the week The Husband and I marveled at how it had not rained even once during our visit, lol. But last month when we went it rained every day. We’ve been having rain every day here too for the last couple of weeks.
Ack, I’m scared of someone hooking me while casting too. I always duck down when someone is casting near me.
Nope, no ARCs yet. They’re working on my cover and layout design now, so I hope I’ll get to see it all soon!
And off topic, but I was just looking at your myspace and your cats look a lot like mine! This is Callie: http://www.flickr.com/photos/shana_n/24119553/ And Bandit is the black and white cat here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/shana_n/24119552/ 🙂
Ah..I left a comment and LJ ate it.
Yes, they do! Bandit even has that same potbelly that Lucky Stash has. I always tell my mom that when the kitty sits like that, she has the shape of a jug.
Callie looks like Toonces too. We have kitty twins!
I imagine it’d be like Indiana Jones and the Temple of…Books? when you get that box of proofs.
