My little houseguest went home last night. I think Chloe is sad that she doesn’t have her playmate anymore. She had so much fun this week, running around the house with Sampson and fighting over toys. The other day she played keep away with him. She had her tennis ball in her mouth and held her head up high while she trotted around the room and Sampson bounced around below her, trying to jump high enough to steal the ball.
It was fun having a puppy in the house again, but also very messy. Sampson kept throwing all of his food out of his bowl. At one point last night I had Puppy Chow kibbles all over my kitchen floor. And he kept trying to eat and eat, as if he could never get enough. He tried to eat the cats’ food and Chloe’s in addition to his own. And he tried to chew on a few shoes and blankets. He is a handful. It’s easy to forget how much work puppies are once your own puppy grows up.
