The Husband and I went to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix today. We rarely go to the movies because we like watching movies at home, relaxing on our couch, able to make as many comments as we like, and able to pause for bathroom breaks. The last movie we saw in the theater was Epic Movie, which we saw just because we were bored.
Anyway, we loved it. I think because I just finished reading OotP a couple weeks ago, I was much more aware of all the changes and omissions between the book and movie. But still, it was a good movie. Made me cry in certain places, which was to be expected since nearly every movie or TV show makes me teary-eyed at least once.
You know, the creators of the Harry Potter movies have really made things hard for me. If I’m supposed to hate Lucius Malfoy, WHY did they cast Jason Isaacs to play him?? I have a small crush on Jason Isaacs and I find movie-Lucius Malfoy to be really hot. And so I struggle with, “Oh, he’s so evil, I should hate him…” and “But he looks REALLY GOOD being evil!” I keep thinking that they should find excuses to give him more screen time in the movies. I don’t care if he’s too old to attend Hogwarts, stick him in a few of the classes anyway!
(And I try to ignore the fact that Jason Isaacs is two months younger than my mother. Because that just makes things weird.)
I cannot wait for Saturday!
You Should Be a Film Writer |
![]() You don’t just create compelling stories, you see them as clearly as a movie in your mind. You have a knack for details and dialogue. You can really make a character come to life. Chances are, you enjoy creating all types of stories. The joy is in the storytelling. And nothing would please you more than millions of people seeing your story on the big screen! |
Maybe I should dig out that script I wrote for a unicorn fantasy movie when I was twelve…
i can’t wait to see harry 4 and 5!! i watched the first 3 this weekend–glad everyone is doing the writer quiz. i’m a fellow film maker. =9
Harry 4 is my favorite of the movies! I hope you enjoy it! 😀
it was good but SOOOO scary!! i liked 3 better (the story line), but i like the character development of the three kids in 4
I crush on him too. My mom crushes on Snape. Ha. She’s praying he doesn’t turn out to be bad. And if he does well that “he continues to be hot.”
lol, I have a slight appreciation for Alan Rickman as Snape. I’m not sure that it’s really a crush, but I think he does make Snape into a great character and makes me root for Snape to turn out to be good. 😉
