Back from the void

I feel so out of the loop on everything. I know nothing about what’s been happening in LiveJournal world or on the messageboards I visit since the first of June. What have I been doing for the last 12 days? Well, for most of that time I was in South Florida, visiting my parents and brothers and sister and brother-in-law and my cute little chubby thighed niece. Here we are looking adorable:

Well, my niece looks adorable. I look greasy faced, thanks to the moisturizer I have to use to keep my face from drying out thanks to the prescription face wash I have to use to keep from looking like volcanoes erupted on my skin.

But I’m back home now and trying to ease myself back into the normal day to day stuff. Which is really hard, since I’ve been doing nothing but watching TV (my parents have so many more channels than I do so there was always something on to catch my interest), swimming in my parents’ pool, going bowling, playing laser tag (which is dangerous to my health–I run into walls while trying to get away from the other players), stealing kisses from my niece, playing pool (I really suck at pool), and eating my mom’s yummy lasagna. We had a great time in Florida, The Husband got to go fishing, which is one of his Absolute Favorite Things in the World To Do. And I got to go shopping at the mall there which is SO much bigger than the malls around where I live and has a better selection of clothes. I can never fit everything into my suitcase when I leave Florida and always end up having to stuff a bunch of shopping bags into the backseat. No shopping again for me for a while, I spent more than I should have.

    Sounds like you had a wonderful and relaxing time – aside from running into walls, that is.

    Although your niece is beautiful, my first thought when I saw your photo was “Wow, look how pretty her skin is.” Seriously.
