I’m wasting time while The Husband goes to get some things replaced on his truck and brings back supper, so in the meantime I’ll do a really easy meme I spotted on other blogs. It’s so easy it has just one question:
What are you reading?
- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling. This is my third or fourth time reading this. I’m amazed at all the little things I notice in the earlier books that I didn’t before I read the sixth book.
- Moby-Dick by Herman Melville. I’m reading this a little per day through the_white_whale. I’ll admit to skimming over the long descriptions of whales and ships and sailing.
- Better Than Yesterday by Robyn Schneider robbiewriter. I’m not very far into this one yet, but enjoying it so far.
- Apartment Therapy: The Eight Step Home Cure by Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan.
- Outcast (Sweet Valley High #41). What? It’s my guilty pleasure reading.
So…what are you reading?

Hi Shana–that’s awesome you are reading a SVH–I haven’t read those since sixth-grade (and I had the WHOLE series). Is she still writing new ones?
I just finished NICK & NORAH’S INFINITE PLAYLIST, which I *loved*. I’m also reading an ARC of a new PUSH imprint book by Drew something…I forgot the title and it’s in my car so I can’t go check. Next on my list is Holly Black’s new novel and PROM DATES FROM HELL. Yes, I bought too many books this weekend, but I like to read and support new YA authors. Good for you reading Moby Dick..ps. I posted about the agent thing today and sent a query to one that an lj author recommended. Thanks for the advice. =)
No, sadly, the SVH series ended a few years ago. But Francine Pascal keeps saying there’s a new series she’s working on, with the characters as adults. But it was supposed to come out in 2005, and then the date was pushed back and now it’s still not out, so I don’t know if we ever will get to see it. :\
I’ve heard good things about NICK & NORAH, I’ll have to pick that up and check it out. 🙂
Someone was joking around the other day about 1Bruce1 (that was the license plate, right?) SVH’s may have been cheesy, but I loved them. Lila and her green eyes, the Wakefield girls…plus the stories were actually pretty good. Shhh…don’t tell.
N&N is fabulous–Rachel Cohn and David Levithan wrote another book together too and it comes out this August.
We’re starting our family Potter-thon. Re-reading the series from Book One and hopefully finishing up 6 the week 7 comes out.
I loved the SVH series!!!
I’m reading the Harry Potter books one chapter a day along with a livejournal community, and we’ll finish up book six the day before book seven is released. I can’t wait! 😀
Just finished John’s Story: The Last Eyewitness, Hypocrite in a Pouffy White Dress and almost finished with rereading The Lovely Bones. I need some new reading material after this though – I’m pretty much out from here on. I read so many books at one time (ADD I suppose) that I never get finished with them in enough time to justify the library although money situations tell me I should just calm down the ADD and read one book at a time. If it’s a really great book I’ll read it all at once and concentrate on it, but most of the time, I’m scattered.

Weird, but I’ve never heard of it.
I’m currently on Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix right now. Just getting ready for the movie.
I’m so geeked and very far behind but just saw what the cover of the last book looks like, on Amazon.com. Not as exciting as I had hoped, but whatevere. :0
