Round two

I spent most of my weekend laying on the couch because I’m sick. Again. This is really getting annoying. Actually, I woke up sick on Thursday, my first day back at work after my vacation. Since I had a ton of things to do that had to be done before the weekend, I had to go to work Thursday and Friday with a fever. Not fun. I don’t know why I always get sick either right before or right after I’m scheduled for time off.

Also, I need to give up NyQuil. Being able to sleep during the night without having to wake up to blow my nose every couple hours just isn’t worth the groggy, disoriented feeling I’m stuck with the next day. Which is how I felt all day today thanks to the NyQuil I took last night. I slept nine hours and still felt like I hadn’t slept it all off. It always leaves me feeling that way. I definitely can’t take it when I have to go to work the next day.

But I have LIBBY edits to do, so I have been working on that when I could focus enough on the words. I’m excited to work on LIBBY with my editor’s notes and make it better, but the pessimistic voice in my head has already started, telling me that I suck and everyone will hate my revisions. I’m trying not to even think about the second book of my contract right now. One worry at a time!

Sick is no fun! And I also hate Nyquil. I only take it if I *have* to sleep. Otherwise, like you say, it’s just not worth it!

    Hope you feel better soon:)

Hope you feel better soon Shana. Thats so exciting you are working on LIBBY edits from your editor. Im sure everything is going to be wonderful. I just got reminded today that struggling with something is a good thing…since it means you are growing as a writer! (I need told that…A LOT)

I know what you mean about the Nyquil hangovers – they are hard to kick! It’s definitely better than barely sleeping all night, but I do feel like a zombie the next day. I hope you’re able to sleep well without it tonight.

Good luck with your revisions – I know LIBBY will be amazing, and I can’t wait to read it. 🙂
