I feel like I’m beginning to emerge from hibernation. The last month at the day job has been crazy busy and stressful, but the light at the end of the tunnel is finally starting to shine in my eyes.
I’m so behind on blog reading and commenting. I’ve been popping in every now and then, but I haven’t wanted to spend much time on the computer after getting home from work because I’ve had a lot of headaches and eye strain lately. Things are starting to get better, so I finally breathe and relax and focus on something other than work.
This is just about old news by now, but I’m so excited about the release date for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Excited to find out what happens, but also a bit sad that it’s the end. I’m trying not to build it up too much in my head and cause myself to be disappointed when I read it (like another recent children’s series end that really disappointed me), but it’s hard because I’m really, really eager to find out what happens. And hopefully no one will spoil a major plot point at the end for me like someone did for Half-Blood Prince. Grr.
Speaking of good books, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I’m recommending this to everyone I know. I couldn’t put it down. I feel weird about calling it “good” because of the subject matter, but it is definitely haunting. It’s been a week since I finished it and the story is still stuck in the back of my head.
Weather.com tells me it feels like it’s 13 degrees outside. I know those of you farther north are having temperatures of my worst nightmares, but I can tell you that this Southern girl is about to freeze every appendage off in the 13 degree wind chill.
I’m excited too! We finally have nice weather, so I can sympathize 🙂
Welcome back to LJ – glad work is getting back to a sane level for you!
I never thought I’d get the chance to say this to anyone in the Southeast: come up to Idaho, it’s a warm 56 outside. You’re the third person this week to blog about The Book Thief and say they couldn’t put it down! I’ll have to add that to my TBR stack!
