My big news…

Since it’s now on Publishers Marketplace and I can’t keep quiet any longer…

Shana Norris’s LIBBY FAWCETT’S SECRET BLOG, the story of one ordinary high school girl who, in her traumatic junior year, has her hair burned in front of her eternal crush, in addition to losing her friends when her online diary is revealed to the whole school by her arch-nemesis, to Tamar Brazis at Amulet, in a pre-empt, in a two-book deal, by Stephen Barbara at the Donald Maass Literary Agency (world).

My agent sold not one, but two of my books! LIBBY and a yet to be decided second one!

I’ve been calling everyone I know and listening to them freak out and scream in my ear. My eardrums are ringing now, but it’s so much fun! 😀

Congrats again . . . I meant to ask you about Publisher’s Marketplace. I’m not signed up so I never saw my name on it. Are you signed up? Is it something you would recommend? By the way, my publication date is the same as yours — Simon & Schuster Spring 08!

I am signed up for PM, but I only just signed up a few days ago when I got the first notice that there was a possible offer coming in. I signed up just so I could see my name on there, hee! 😉 It’s kind of cool, being able to see all the deals and seeing what books are going to be published, but I don’t know if I really recommend it since it’s $20/month and that’s the only part that interests me about it. It also has a deal tracker, where you can enter in an agent’s or editor’s name or an agency or publisher, and it’ll alert you whenever a new deal is posted containing those names, but I haven’t used that feature yet. I probably won’t renew my account after my month is up.

Yay for Spring 08! I can’t wait for it to get here! 😀
