I’m almost a little sad to say good-bye to 2006.
Accomplishments:
Wrote two new YAs, half of one new YA, and rewrote half of a previously written YA.
Revised LIBBY several times, but made the story stronger.
Actually managed to plot a couple of the books I worked on, which helped me keep the momentum going.
Accepted an offer of representation from an agent.
Accepted my first book deal.
Also, my niece Haley was born and I reconnected with a few old high school friends through myspace. And I met a lot of great and talented new friends through livejournal, Verla Kay’s, teenlitauthors, and Forward Motion.
There was a sad part to 2006. My cousin, who was only four months older than me, died this summer at the age of 26.
…..
But I’m excited for 2007 and looking forward to the work ahead. My goals for the next year include:
Finish final draft of LIBBY and turn in before April.
Decide on second book of contract and get first draft done.
Finish JENNA, since I’ve been floundering on it a bit.
Go to a writers’ convention (never been before, would love to go!).
Redesign my website–I’m getting tired of the current look.
Challenge myself, write something like I’ve never written before.
Try to keep my paper journal more up to date.
