50,372 words! Finished NaNoWriMo and the overall book during lunch today. As I got closer to the end I was pretty sure that it wouldn’t go much farther over 50K. There are a few things I want to add in or expand on, but I’ll do that in a month or so. Whenever I’ve had enough distance to come back and revise.
Right now I feel so relieved at finishing this. I really wanted to get it done and have that first draft over with. Now I can put my focus back on the other book I was working on before November, which is about half written. I had been struggling with it, but I started rereading it last night and actually got excited about the story again. Maybe the time away from it will have done some good and I can get it finished in the next couple of months.
Wonderful news! I’m almost done (though mine will be shorter than 50K) also…and I also can’t wait to get back to my other book 😉
