Feeling lost

I like to interpret my dreams sometimes. I can remember a lot of my dreams, although most of the time they’re just really, really weird. (Like the one had a couple of weeks ago, in which my family and I went to Australia and my dad was flying the plane. Except it was a really rickety old plane that kept sputtering and jerking in the air and my dad didn’t actually know how to fly a plane so I kept saying, “Oh my God, we’re going to die on our first trip to Australia!” And then later–I guess we made it out of the plane safely–these guys came up to me and wanted me to take something back to the US for them and it turned out to be a bunch of little pills and flyers for a party. They said all I had to do was hang the flyers up everywhere when I got home and hang onto the pills. Apparently I’m a drug mule and a party publicist.)

Anyway, I looked up the symbols from the dream I had last night. Anyone seeing a recurring theme here?

High School
To dream that you have to repeat high school, suggests that you are doubting your accomplishments and the goals that you have already completed. You feel that you may not be measuring up to the expectation of others. The dream may occur because some recent situation may have awakened old anxieties and insecurities.

Lost
To dream that you are lost, suggests that you have lost your direction in life or that you have lost sight of your goals. You may be feeling worried and insecure about the path you are taking in life. Alternatively, you may be trying to adjust and get accustomed to a new situation in which the rules and conditions are ever changing.

Stairs
To dream that you are walking up a flight of stairs, indicates that you are achieving a higher level of understanding. You are making progress into your spiritual/emotional/material journey. To see spiral or winding stairs, signify growth and/or rebirth.

In the dream, I was back in the high school I attended when I lived in Florida (which was during my junior year and the beginning of my senior year), except that there were all these confusing staircases everywhere. I had my class schedule, but I couldn’t find any of my classes. I was wandering around lost, really late for class, and climbing higher and higher, sometimes having to jump over broken stairs.

I think it’s safe to say that dream was telling me I’m feeling a bit insecure about certain things, which is definitely true.

I dream about stairs whenever I’m stressed…usually I’m afraid of falling down them (and sometimes I do); I also have that dream where there’s water or something in your eyes and you can’t see clearly — gee, wonder what that means? He-he…hope you have happier dreams soon! (Like — hey, I sold my book, dreams!)
