I keep reading the news stories about Steve Irwin and watching the clips on TV. I loved his show that used to come on Saturday mornings on NBC. And when the husband was in the hospital for back surgery last year, we kept the TV in his room on Animal Planet so we could watch Steve Irwin on different shows he appeared in.

I think what I always liked best about him was that you could tell he really loved his job. How many people can say that? How many people are stuck in jobs they hate just so they can pay the bills? But he had a passion for animals–not just the cute, fuzzy ones–and devoted his life to them. You could see in his behavior and hear in the way he spoke that he truly loved what he did.
