Trivial pursuit

I always check the IMDb TV/Movie quote of the day to try to guess where it’s from. Sometimes they use quotes from old movies or TV shows that I’ve never seen and other times I have seen the movie or TV show, but I just don’t remember the quote.

Today’s quote is:

LOGAN: Annoy, tiny blonde one, annoy like the wind!

I totally, definitely, absolutely know this one! The best show on TV right now and my favorite (well, my favorite along with My So-Called Life, Joan of Arcadia, and Road to Avonlea, but they’re all off the air).

Coincidentally, that show was also an answer on Jeopardy last night and I yelled it out at the screen, but none of the contestants got it. Of course, I never phrase my answers in the form of a question because I try to get the answer out before the contestant does, so my husband said I missed it anyway. We always compete with each other to see who can get the most right answers. I do well with literature, word origins and definitions, and pop culture; he does well with science and history, especially war and politicians.

The final Jeopardy question last night was to name the national march of the US. I said, “Um, what is ‘Hail to the Chief’?” I was just guessing the first thing that popped into my head, but I phrased it as a question so the husband couldn’t count it against me.

He gave me a funny look and said, “‘Hail to the Chief’? A march?”

“Doesn’t it make you feel like marching?” I asked.

As you can guess, “Hail to the Chief” was not the answer. It’s actually “Stars and Stripes Forever.” But one of the contestants also guessed “Hail to the Chief.” I pointed at the screen and said, “Ha! See, it makes him want to march too!”
