I didn’t get a chance to blog about this yesterday (my dog had to go to the vet, my car needed an oil change, and I had to find time to do some more revision work on LIBBY sometime in there), but Stephen is the male Hottie of Publishing!
Saturday was my birthday. The husband had to work that day but he asked me before he left that morning what kind of cake I wanted for my birthday. I said, “Um, is it okay to have cheesecake for my birthday cake?” I’m not a huge fan of cake in general and I’m lactose intolerant so I haven’t had cheesecake in a long time, but that’s what I really, really wanted. So I got it. And I, um, ate almost all of it by myself. The husband had one piece, I think. I did try to get him to eat the last piece, but he wouldn’t and so I couldn’t let it go to waste.
On my birthday this year, I suddenly remembered how I used to listen to my New Kids on the Block tape on my birthday when I was younger, the one where they sing their song called, creatively, “Happy Birthday.” And then the song got stuck in my head. I can’t believe I actually remember the words.
Happy birthday! Did the cake make you sick? My daughter is also lactose intolerant…hope it was a great day!
Thanks! Yes, it did make me sick, but it was SO worth it. 😉
Happy belated birthday, Shana.
How did you manage with the cheescake? I’m lactose intolerant, too. Do you take a ton of Lactaid before eating cheesecake?
Thank you. 😀
I forgot to ask my husband to get some Lactaid when he bought the cheesecake and I didn’t have any at home, so I just decided to deal with the stomachaches I knew I’d get if I ate it. I hadn’t had cheesecake in a long time and I love it, so it was worth getting sick to have some. 😉
