Definitely need a break

I think I’ve been watching too much Dragon Tales on PBS. The word “definitely” has slipped into my vocabulary. I’ve noticed it in my emails to other people–work emails, emails to friends and family, comments I leave on other people’s blogs. I can’t seem to write an email any more without adding a “definitely” in there somewhere. On Dragon Tales, the character Emmy says definitely a lot:

“Want to go to Dragonland, Emmy?” “Definitely!”

“Dragonberries are so yummy!” “Definitely!”

“Let’s help Quetzel find the Nodlings!” “Definitely!”

The funny thing is, the husband and I don’t have kids, yet we watch Dragon Tales almost every weekday afternoon. It comes on at 5:30, right when I get home from work. The husband is usually already home and he has it turned to that channel. Mostly because there really isn’t anything else on at that time and he’s waiting for 6:00, when The Simpsons reruns on the WB, which is the next channel after the local PBS station.

I think I need to lay off the Dragon Tales for a while or else I’ll definitely start saying definitely every time I speak.

(Speaking of PBS cartoons, I will admit that I LOVE Arthur. Whenever I’m off from the day job during the early afternoon, I’ll make sure to watch it. I love D.W. and Buster.)

Too funny!! I was reading this and thinking, “Oh, look, another mom like me” — until that little twist at the end 😀 My son lives and dies by DRAGON TALES…sigh.
