Approaching the first hurdle

I always feel a bit of relief when I break the 10,000 word mark in a project. It’s like if I get to 10,000 words then I believe I can keep going to the end. Of course, I feel even more relieved when I break 25,000 words and then even more at 40,000. But 10,000 is that first mini-goal line for me.

I’m not there yet on the new WIP, but I did break 5,000 today so I’m halfway to that mini-goal. This project does not currently have a real name so I call it by the main character’s name which is Jenna. Also today I wrote the scene in which Jenna’s life completely changes because of a lie someone else told and so from here to the end will be the aftereffects and how she deals with them. And in the end, how she gets even. (Cue evil laugh.)
