Not quite a day off

I enjoyed the three-day weekend from my day job, but I still spent my day off working. I made quite a bit of progress on Girlfriend, including getting through a section that was just difficult to write (the words DID NOT want to come out) and also a section that made me cry (luckily no one saw me sobbing over my own book like a dork. Well, except the cats and dog, but they won’t tease me about it). Girlfriend is different than Libby and Emma, more of a coming of age story. I try to include some humor also, like Libby and Emma, but it is still a more serious story.

I’m worried about how it will work out though once it’s written. I always worry about how my stories will work out, if they’ll make sense or sound realistic. I have to make myself to keep going and promise that I’ll sort it out later if something doesn’t come out right.

I also watched the newest Pride and Prejudice movie yesterday. What is it about Mr. Darcy that is so alluring? I’m not sure, but this Mr. Darcy was still as alluring as the original book version. I loved Brenda Blethyn’s portrayal of Mrs. Bennet. Mrs. Bennet is a true drama queen, going on and on about her nerves and she always amuses me. Ms. Blethyn played the part well.
