I went to the library yesterday, which I probably shouldn’t have done since Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be out in TWO DAYS!! and I’ll start in on it as soon as I can get a copy in my grubby little hands. But I went anyway and stocked up on some books:
- Every Boy’s Got One – Meg Cabot
- Bringing Up the Bones – Lara Zeises
- Mates, Dates, and Inflatable Bras – Cathy Hopkins
- Super 16 – Jax Abbott
- My Abnormal Life – Lee McClain
- Gossip Girl #6: You’re the One That I Want – Cecily von Ziegesar
Only six books. I restrained myself from picking up all the other Mates, Dates, and… books until I’ve read this one and seen how I like them. And I’m reading the Gossip Girl books all out of order because they’re always checked out when I go by my library. Same with the Meg Cabot books and the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Very hard to get a hold of.
The nice thing about looking ten years younger than you actually are is that no one thinks it’s weird to see you in the young adult section. The person at the counter who checks out the books for you doesn’t raise one eyebrow when you place The Princess Diaries on the counter.
And I’m convinced that someone has stolen The Perks of Being a Wallflower from the library. Every time I go, I check to see if it’s in. The computer always says it is, but it’s never where it should be. I checked all over the C shelves of the fiction section this time, getting down on my knees on the carpet, but it was not there. It’s been book-napped.
